How do we obtain love as god has. To me I don’t see how anyone who has love can have sin. God is perfect and has perfect love and sin and death does not apply. God cannot sin nor is subject to death. Is his love obtained by sanctifying grace?
Jesus gave us the answer verbally and also by the example of His life.
"If you love me, keep my commands." John 14: 15
This makes sense. If we truly love someone we desire to make them happy. God is our Master and we are His servants. The way a servant make his Master happy is to do exactly what the Master commands. So what are the Master’s commands?
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22: 36-40
So our commandments and the way to love as God loves is simply to love!

We have to love God before everything and desire to serve Him through every action we take. We have to pray constantly. We do this by responding to every pleasant experience God gives us with thanksgiving and praise, and also by making every unpleasant experience a willing sacrifice in imitation of our Lord’s Passion.
Christ also tells us exactly how we should love our fellow man - as if we were standing in their shoes. Treat others exactly the way you would want to be treated yourself. This can be easy for people we love and who love us in return, but of course we’re commanded to love those who hate us as well.
And don’t forget to love yourself! God loves you, so you must imitate Him by loving yourself…which means doing everything in your power to get to Heaven.
When we’re doing those things then we’re loving as God loves.
