Blowing In the Wind

It is a windy day.
Looking up to the sky,
my hair flying back.
I blow a kiss to You in Heaven.

My Father,
it is a moment like this,
thinking of Your love,
my heart is full of emotion.

A sentiment of joy,
of delight,
gratitude and hope,
and a little unexplained melancholy.

My heart is full,
being caught out of the blue.
Just because I am Your child,
I blow my love to You in the wind.

Govern My Heart
- for the Good Shepherd Sunday

When an inappropriate thought
or a prideful deliberation comes,
“Lord, govern my heart,”
is imminently whispered inside.

Subtly weaved into my soul,
the Lord bestowed this gentle prompt
reigning as a saddle on a horse,
serving as a reminder.

I cannot express my gratitude
for this sanctifying grace.
And the grace provided
for being responsive to Him.

A judgmental spirit will subside,
a tempted heart lifted.
The gratification is humbled
always by this inner tug.

I offer my heart up to the Lord.
Open myself unreservedly.
For You, Lord to keep, to guard,
to bless and to govern.

The Lord is my Shepherd,
constantly doing a new thing.
He always makes a new way
in the wilderness and in the desert.

Whispering

In that quiet small Chapel,
under the dimmed lights,
flickering candles,
accompany the whisperings.

Evening goes deep;
church is empty.
Really I must go,
but I just don’t want to.

My Lord is in the tabernacle.
I long for His presence.
Sitting under His feet,
I dwell on the stillness of Mary.

“There is need of only one thing.”
And that’s what I have been practicing.
Whispering comes from the Lord,
also flows out of my soul.

A Thousand Times

My Lord resurrects in the spring,
in the cherry blossoms,
and the white flowers of pear trees.
All lives are being renewed!

Among all the colorful richness,
God’s glory is revealed.
The chirping birds
sing the goodness of the Lord.

With each breath,
I want to lift up my heart,
casting my loving gaze
a thousand times a day!

The flowers do that
by opening themselves to the grace,
joyfully using their blossoms
to spread the fragrance of His name.

I would like to do the same.
Through prayers and thoughts,
lifting up my heart to the Lord,
a thousand times a day!

Walking by Faith

Walking with the Lord is a joy.
In the gentle breeze,
under the golden sun,
along with the chirping birds
and the fragrance of the flowers,
I walk and talk with my Lord.

Thoughts travel back to long, long ago.
Once upon a time in the Garden of Eden,
the Lord has walked with Adam and Eve.
Face to face, they could see each other.
With His physical image, God was present.
Imagine the intimacy!

Nevertheless the Paradise has been long lost.
Knowing His existence
but unable to see,
that’s how the longing is intensified.
Like two separated lovers,
the yearning to be with the other is ever deep.

We have to walk by faith not by sight.
Though the thirst is never quenched,
faith helps the sustaining.
With this deep longing in heart,
a spiritual journey is taken
until the last day.

Renew the Face of the Earth
- for Pentecost

Come, Holy Spirit come!
Without storm, with gentle breeze,
without flood, with living water,
You renew the face of the earth.

Come, Holy Spirit come!
Without condemnation, with conviction,
Without indifference, with burning love,
You renew the face of the earth.

Come, Holy Spirit come!
Without pressure, with grace,
Without blight, with blessing,
You renew the face of the earth.

You give us the seven gifts,
delight us with the fire of Your love.
Pouring out Your Spirit,
You transform our lives.

A Song in My Heart

My Beloved,
My heart longs for you.
My spirit yearns for you.
I totally belong to you.
I will delight with you forever!

Your words are my comfort.
Your call is my charm.
Like a morning star,
You light me up from inside.
I will delight with you forever!

I have come to your garden.
I gather the sweet honey,
I drink freely of love.
My heart trembles from within.
I will delight with you forever!

Your kiss is sweeter than wine.
Your caress satisfies me.
Your name is a spreading perfume.
Hold me tight as your own.
I will delight with you forever!

Your gaze is piercing.
My heart is burning.
I grow faint with love.
Set me with you as a seal.
I will delight with you forever!
Before I fell in love with God, I did not “get” the Song of Songs and I would not have understood this poem. This one really speaks to me now.

I wish I could share this love with those who doubt it exists! It is the closest thing to Heaven on earth. Once you’ve experienced it, nothing on earth can compare. I used to think, “If I just have X, I’ll be happy.” How foolish I was to chase after those things! Instead I should have turned my attention to God who was chasing me all along. I’m glad I finally did, but wish I done so a long time ago.

Thanks for your poems, InLight.

Becky, you are right that Song of Songs is hard to relate unless one has experienced it. I am glad you like my poems. They actually are illuminations from the Holy Spirit. Sentences came to my mind and I quickly typed them on the computer or write them down on any piece of paper I could find at the time. Almost all of them were composed in such manner.

This poem writing experience is very awesome to me. They are intimate communions between the Lord and I, a gift from above. I had never written any poems before. I cherish this infused inspiration very much. Thank and praise the Lord. And thank you for your encouragement.

** Sunny Day**
Code:
The sky is blue with no cloud,
      	my heart has no doubt.
    The day is clear.
In His love there is no fear.

   While trials exist,
        temptations I must resist.
Not allow anxiety to creep in,
       even sufferings may be keen.

   Beyond any shadow of doubt,
       I take the faith route.
   Knowing He is around,
       my hope is found.

   I could quaver and weaver,
yet I will depend on the Savior.
He is my help and my rock.
       His door I constantly knock.

Looking up to the sunny sky,
      I keep my hopes high.
  Heaven knows no bound,
as I stand on solid faith ground.

Fear Not

What do you fear?
Is it the fear of the unknown?
Or is it the fear of being alone?
In uncertainty we groan.

A sentiment we all feel,
fear brings us away from faith,
impedes the Divine blessings.
So, fear not.

Our names are carved in His palm.
He has promised to be with us
till the end of the world.
So, fear not.

Jesus said,
“Even all the hairs of your head are counted.
So do not be afraid.”
Yes, fear not.

“You are mine.”
Thus says the Lord.
Nothing can take us away
from His encompassing love.

So, fear not.
With Jesus,
no one will ever be alone.
We can deal with the unknown.

**Love’s Wound **

In the quietness,
it springs forth an emotion.
Heart weeps,
tears swell up.

“I love you so much,”
is her whisper.
The sentiment grows deeper,
burning and unyielding.

How is one wounded by love?
From a thirst,
that is unquenchable.
An invisible reality!

With His encompassing love,
the soul is caressed.
Yet the comfort and joy
can never stop the yearning.

The longing won’t end.
No one can comprehend.
This wounding love,
she embraces without pause.
