To whom are you giving the talk? What is the setting? When are you giving the talk? I have several ideas, but I would like some (name removed by moderator)ut from you so I can narrow them down a bit.

What is the outline? Do you have to follow it 100%?

Anyway it might not be until next week that I respond. Right now I have a busy schedule and do not have much time for coming here.

God bless

Its a Christian Life Seminar that is being held on a Church basement with only 4-6 adult participants.
Not so strict with the outline as long as its stays to the topic.

Thx and God Bless.

Saint Francis de Sales gave a SPECTACULAR collection of speeches on the matter to deliver to a group of poor nuns at the Visitation convent. These nuns were so moved by these speeches that they transcribed them, and published them collectively under the title “The Art of Loving God”. Sophia Institute Press publishes it.

You could read this poem called Unfolding the Rose:

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God’s design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God’s design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I’ll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,
Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

Then you could hand out boxes of roses that when opened contained only stems as an illustration of how we must be as thankful for our thorns as for our flowers.
