Low self-confidence and self-esteem

Lately, I am unfortunately suffering with low self-confidence and self-esteem. My anxiety is also making me being negligent with my responsibilities and with my spiritual life.

I really need your prayers 🙏
 
A couple of things that help me with my anxiety are St. Padre Pio’s quote “Pray, hope and don’t worry.” Also knowing that anxiety, low self-esteem and confidence are not coming from God. Remember that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and that God loves you! One last thing that helps me is a note that my priest gave me that says “There is only one Savior if the world. He is not you. All of us fall short, so we can call on the Savior.”

As someone who also suffers from anxiety and low self esteem issues, I am truly sorry to hear you are going through this. I will most certainly pray for you. I’d also like to offer a few pieces of advice that have really helped me learn to cope.
  1. It’s okay to not be okay. I know that sounds so cliche, but it’s really true. Putting unnecessary pressure on yourself, and then mentally beating yourself up for not meeting that standard is unhealthy. If someone had a broken foot, no one would expect them to go out and exert themselves when it could potentially cause harm to do so. Depression and anxiety are “invisible” afflictions, but that doesn’t mean they should be given less attention and care.
  2. When it comes to struggling with managing responsibilities, make a list. This is helpful because, not only do you have a visual picture that holds you accountable for what needs to get done, but checking off the list as you go can also give you a real sense of accomplishment. Even with simple things. And that will motivate you to do more.
  3. None of us are perfect. None of us pray perfectly. And going back to my first point, it’s okay not to be okay. A priest told me that if I have days where I find it especially challenging to pray, to just say a short prayer at that moment. God is merciful and He hears us and knows our pain. He wants us to always look to him in both good times and bad, but He also understands that sometimes we don’t always have the words or the mental state to say it.

I highly recommend “The Surrender Novena” given by Jesus to Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo ( you can find it on the internet). I will pray for you to see yourself as God sees you Guilherme, you are His most beloved child.

Mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us-
Give your aid to all needing help or healing-
Assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering-
Be with those needing peace-
Console the lonely or brokenhearted-

Pray for those who are dying or who have died-
Touch those who do not yet see truth or have hardened hearts-
Help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go-

Father please help this person get the confidence to see they are valuable in life to everyone. They are strong and can easily pass the hurdles in life. May they walk strong in Christ. In your name, Jesus amen!

Today was, honestly, a tough day, but I also think that I entered today in the right path to make things better for me.
