One afternoon while flipping through channels, I saw a black & white film about how communism came to former East Germany and how it affected the Lutheran church. It begins with a pastor being sentenced to prison and hard labor just for preaching the Gospel. Another takes his place and already begins to run afoul of the government. He has to be clever as he’s being watched.
The film was commissioned by a coalition of Lutheran churches. I believe it was called Question Number Seven. It takes place before the construction of the Berlin Wall. I can find no other information about the movie or even a film clip anywhere when researching.
