=rinnie;6915545]No Jesus is not taught to be a stern judge in the Catholic Church. Jesus is taught to be full of Love and Mercy.
Lutherans would agree that Christ the savior is full of love and mercy.Yes we must be made perfect in order to enter heaven. What do you think that a person full of sin can enter heaven? And yes we are all judged on Judgement day. What does your CHurch claim Judgement day is? And who does your Church claim Judges you?
No person full of sin enters Heaven.
The creed says Christ will return to judge the living and the dead.
And why should we give the guy a break when he is teaching lies about our teaching??
Two contrdictory statements, Rinnie. In the first you seem to be accusing him of lies. In the second, you say he doesn’t have a clue. I’d like to believe the second is true - that he really doesn’t understand Catholic teaching. If he does understand it, and still misrepresents it, then it is a lie and shame on him.And if the man even had a clue himself what the Immaculate Conception was he would not even has said that Mary’s parents had to be perfect![]()
I’ve experienced this here regarding what Lutherans teach, as well.I just love when people like this try to teach others about our faith, when they do not have a clue themselves.
JonNC’s personal first rule of dialogue: Never attempt to tell others what they believe. Instead, let them tell you what they believe, and actually listen to what they say.
I sometimes slip up and don’t follow my own rule, but I continue to try.
