I know the Macedonian Orthodox Church is not currently in communion with Eastern Orthodoxy. I have come across various rumours that the MOC requested full communion with Rome some years ago, but Rome rejected their overtures out of consideration of EO feelings. Can anyone verify this?

orthodoxwiki.org/Macedonian_Orthodox_Church has this,
The Macedonian Orthodox Church or MOC (in Macedonian: Македонска Православна Црква or МПЦ) is a jurisdiction in the Republic of Macedonia which declares itself to be autocephalous. It separated from the Church of Serbia in 1967. Its self-proclaimed autocephaly is not officially recognized by other Orthodox churches, nor is it in communion with any of them.
If the rumors (I’ve heard them too) that they made overtures to Rome are true, then my best guess is that they were seeking recognition of themselves as an autonomous church.
