I feel like this sounds a little out-there, but this morning I experienced what I can only call a miracle… after it happened, I dropped to my knees and thanked and praised God, and felt called to fast for the rest of the day today to show my gratitude. I am at work and was visiting with some coworkers in the lounge where there is a candy bowl, and I ate a piece of candy while visiting without thinking about it!! I’m horrified that I did this so soon after what God did for me… it was 100% unintentional, I mean no one shoved it in my mouth but I just wasn’t thinking… I’m afraid that God will take away what He did for me this morning, and my family’s livelihood and happiness depends on it. Am I overthinking this??? Or should I add time onto my fast to make up for it? WILL that make up for it?

Thank you… :-/

God never takes anything away from us, it’s always our faults. And no miracles are forever if we still have faults. They would make you lose it sooner or later, I’m sorry if it sounds bad but that’s the truth, unless you are a saint.

If you didn’t do it consciously, it’s all good. Add some time to your fasting, and don’t despair. If you feel like you should worry, worry about the things that are truly worth worrying about. 🙂

God doesn’t play games like, “Oh you broke your fast, I’m not gonna give you that blessing after all!” We are not in the world of ancient Greek myths. This is a loving and sensible God who understands you were not thinking.

Just do another fast on another day if you feel this one got spoiled…but I’m sure God gave you lots of partial credit.
