Many, many years ago I loved playing video games like Unreal Tournament, Quake, Half Life, Soldier of Fortune and Doom. The only one that ever truly disturbed me was Doom, particularly with all the pentagrams everywhere it just felt like it was in-your-face advertising evil to anybody weak enough to succumb to it. I got put off by it and just felt very uncomfortable as I tend to get things stuck in my mind (sometimes years later images can creep back into my thoughts) so I stopped playing.
On a funny note about that game though, was one of the first times I ever played it. We just got our new PC and there I was playing this game, when a monster threw a fireball at me and… the monitor LITERALLY blew up! It made an almighty BANG and there was a spark… made me nearly hit the ceiling
