Went to Mass today where the sanctuary was recently “renovated.”

The altar was placed back in its rightful place, and the Eucharistic Prayer was prayed ad orientum. And it was magnificent! It was the NO Mass. The Readings, the Gospel, and the homily were all done from the ambo, and at the elevation, the priest presented the Body and Blood to the people.

And it was packed to the gills.

This post gives hope to us all!! When you say the altar was back in its rightful place, what do you mean? Where was it before its return? Was it outside the sanctuary?

The “dining room table” was removed, and the altar was in the apse, right in front of the tabernacle (which, by the way is right in the center).

I’m not sure of the terminology, so maybe pictures would help.
This is the “new” sanctuary:

This is the parish website: stmaryrockwoodmi.org/ The pastor has been a friend of ours for 15 years - he was my son’s Confirmation sponsor.

😃 Maybe you get your priest to start emailing mine??

The day this happens in the Archdiocese of Seattle is the day I will finally have hope that the Holy Father’s plan for the Church is succeeding.👍 One can pray, at least.
