I could use a little help.

In the Guide, what are the levels of being?

Is it God?

Then angels

Then spheres

What is the name of the spheres?

I will be back in about twelve hours, that is, noon on Saturday in the east.

Also, what is the nature of God’s communication to Moses?

Hi Jim:

Man, it’s been a long time since reading about the ‘spheres’. I think they have reference to the three heavens. As I recall, they were called either: the aerial, the sidereal, and the empyrean. Or, they were called: the sidereal, the crystalline and the empyrean. Some of the early Fathers believed that there were seven heavens, or divisions of Heaven. St. Paul refers to the heavens, taken as one, or three, as “paradise.”

Is this what you were looking for?

Oh and, yes. The upper level, or sphere is the Vision level, or God. Then below that is the Angelic level, which consists of those angels who are not yet ready to see the face of God. then, the lowest level, is the surface of the earth and the sky immediately above. (As I recall.)

I am hoping to find a simple yet complete statement or diagram such as

           3. ten spheres (the relationship of the ten spheres)

           4. Active intellect

           5. human spirit
This seems that it might be correct, but really general. I am, however, not sure as to the order. I have read Maimonides several times and do not have the time to study him at this moment. I am hoping for help in this area in order to save time.

Also, the fifth element has to be included.

Do you know if the sphere is separate from the planet?

Does the planet “ride” on or in the sphere?

As I mentioned, I do not have time.

Is there a person you could ask?

I do not know who to ask.

I am sad to say that the answers are found in the encyclopedias, that is, what are the spheres.

I have found my answer in the most likely place–an encyclopedia.
