I am not sure where to put this thread. My apologies if I picked the wrong forum.

I am looking for some practical feedback regarding a prayer chain. I run a family ministry that keeps a monthly prayer chain. It has 36 intentions on it currently. Only the ministry members receive the chain. We make calls for new intentions monthly.

If you run a chain, how often do you let go of intentions? I have nothing to compare our prayer chain to. I know my personal daily list is not that long.

I know this is an odd request because people can use prayers for a long, long time, but we also want to be practical or find a balance. It seems like the chain could use some refreshing.

Any experience with this out there?

Thanks in advance!

Hi.
At our parish, we don’t refer to it as Prayer Chain because that has a negative connotation. (chain letters, etc.)

We have a Rosary Group that prays for intentions which can be submitted to one central person.
She keeps an email roster of those that agree to be included and want to pray for people.
When she gets a new request, she sends it out, and also follow up emails regarding good outcomes, and thank you wishes from people… named, and anonymous.
It’s up to the recipients when and if they want to delete someone from their personal prayers.

Hope this helps,
Clare

Thank you! I see the benefits of that process. Thanks for stopping to reply. 🙂
