Not quite sure where to post this: 🤷

I’m going to a military college in two weeks and, except for my underclothes and shoes, I’m not allowed to bring much. I already have a small-sized Bible and Catechism which I will definitely bring with me. I would also like to have a necklace-sized rosary that I can keep on me at all times. I lost my old rosary, but I was just given a small (2-2.5 in) St. Benedict crucifix and would like to make a new one using it.

I’ve tried making my own rosary using the following website, and it worked okay, but I think I want something a bit more solid. rosaryarmy.com/

What I’d like to do is find a rosary chain (I’m thinking metal would be best?) that I can wear around my neck with that St.Benedict crucifix on it. I love to pray the Rosary every day, but I got out of the habit since I lost mine. Now that I’m going to military school, I could use that extra boost even more.

Any suggestions for a lightweight, sturdy, relatively inexpensive rosary chain? If I can order online that would be great, but I don’t know where to begin looking.

olrm.org/ is a good place to start. You need to be a member, but that is only a couple of dollars. (They supply a lot of rosary makers who are working for missions, & need to stay afloat). It’s a good apostolate. (I’m not sure what exactly you need, I only do the knotted ones.)
Yes, Rosary Shop is good. There is also rosaryworks.com/index.html They will make the rosary up, using your crucifix (as will Rosary Shop).

And please believe me, if a Rosary Army rosary is made with proper twine…( Check this: fnt-victory.net/rosary.html ), it will LAST!! They are very tough.

Just be sure to have a rosary!!! rosaryarmy.com/ is there, just to be certain that no one goes without!!

I wonder if you wrote to EWTN, if they would give a rosary to you. I know they receive blessed medals and other sacramentals that people send in from relatives who have passed away and they have no one else to give them to.

Just a suggestion.

I thought I had a rosary I’d started and then didn’t finish; I’d be happy to send it to you, but I cannot find it! St. Anthony, please help!

I made 2 rosaries out of Job’s tears. It’s a weed that grows naturally wild in India. It produces a v hard seed with a hole already in it, ready to string. They are mostly gray in color. I used metal parts from Lewis & Co. rosaryparts.com/

There may be someone in your parish who repairs rosaries who could get parts for you or make one for you. Just ask around.

God bless you in military school GIMJ,
Mimi
