I was driving to work today when I found myself singing improvised praises to the Lord in my head in tune with a CD of beautiful fairground organ music. I found this to be a very beautiful way to pray and I got chills and cried tears of joy.

Has anyone else ever tried this?

I’ve never done this, but I like playing piano or making a beat to instrumental music. That’s a good idea you have.

Well, the only thing I would worry about is you crying tears of joy. . .while you’re driving.

Yes. Please focus on the road. Save the tears and emotional outpourings for when you’re not behind the wheel of a deadly machine weighing more than a ton.

I can’t say that I’ve tried it…

Usually a hymn will come into my mind that I already know, when I’m in some kind of situation that moves me.

It sounds like you were moved by the Holy Spirit though, and I think that’s wonderful! 😇

God bless you! 🙂

I have done that before, though several years in the past, and I vocalized it too. It is beautiful and I feel it’s truly inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Hmm, I’m probably misinterpreting this, but it seems that this has some biblical basis to it: “Improvise for him a new song…” (Judith 16:1)
