** A** **Massachusetts man faces a court trial over a dispute about the teaching of homosexuality in his son’s kindergarten class. **
**David Parker, of Lexington, spent a night in jail and was charged with criminal trespassing after refusing to leave a scheduled meeting with school officials April 27, unless they gave him the option of pulling his child out of certain classes. **

Remember, it takes a village.

 That is sad. I think this man did the right thing. It is about choices, and the right ones. I will pray for this man. :bible1:

This is heartbreaking. It seems the only option for parents and children today is homeschooling.

Isnt their away to accomodate all kids in a classroom? In regards to the origianl post the parent was upset about a book that depicted gay couples with kids and said they where a family…well reality is that there are families like this out there (not that I agree or disagree) but how does banning this book help the kids stuck in those types of families??

I think the point is parents have a right not to have their children indoctrinated into moral realtivism. That homes exist with all manner of disoriented lifestyles does not mean we should teach our children that is acceptable.

I have raised my children…been there…done that.
Bringing up children is difficult enough. There is no time today to set yourself up to have to beat the crazies off your back.

If you have children just take care of them…not in public schools.

What about those other kids stuck in those types of families?
What are you suggesting? Don’t ask me. You seem to have ideas…let them roll.

Any class that a parent wants to pull their child from for moral or religious reasons should be allowed. A parents rights should trump the rights of the state.

We might not all agree with this but it is a family that raises its children not the government.

First thing, why are they bringing this up in kindergarten? Secondly, the schools ought to stick to teaching reading, writing and arithmatic. Why do they have to comment on stuff like this in the first place?

Probably, though, the whole thing would’ve gone over the kid’s head if the father hadn’t had made a big to do. Actually, I worry more about the lousy food in the cafeteria, and the school expecting the parents to oversee hours of homework, than I do about this stuff. I’ll be homeschooling this year.

Totally agree. I have pulled my eldest son out of a class I thought was not right for his age. This was not an issue for the school 😃

Really, this is a blatant example of social engineering from the left. The book in question is “Who is in a Family?” . I see no reason for the school to go to this effort to describe families like this, other than to plant seeds in the minds of the very young. Here are the offending passages…

*The illustrated book, according to the local non-profit group Article 8 Alliance, says, “A family can be made up in many different ways” and includes this text:

“Laura and Kyle live with their two moms, Joyce and Emily, and a poodle named Daisy. It takes all four of them to give Daisy her bath.”
Another illustrated page says:

“Robin’s family is made up of her dad, Clifford, her dad’s partner, Henry, and Robin’s cat, Sassy. Clifford and Henry take turns making dinner for their family.”
Article 8, an opponent of the state’s same-sex marriage law, says the book “uses subtle but powerful emotions to normalize homosexual relationships in the minds of the young children.”

This is only the begining. The people of Massachusetts like being liberal and tolerant. Well get ready. As Gay marriage is legal in Massachusetts than next will be Gay sex education. If two men getting married is o.k than logicaly the sex they engage in is o.k. .So it can be taught right along straight sex education in school. Parents of Massachusetts have fun.

I guess MA will either see a large increase in the Catholic school enrollment or in homeschooling 😃

Just a thought - My brother was home schooled after I suffered through the degenerate public schools. Home Schooling is illegal in Germany though but Prostitution is legal.

In regards to homeschooling in Germany: No laws specifically allow for home schooling, though each state gives school officials some discretionary authority to approve alternative education. While some families have obtained this approval, most operate underground. At least seven families are in court.

The more “normal” they make homosexuality, the more it increases. Young people who are not otherwise “inclined” that way will experiment with it because it is being touted as just another “alternative”. I feel for children who come from families like this. It is not their fault that their parents have made these decisions, but the rest of us should have the right to protect our own children from what we consider morally unacceptable.

I agree that this entire subject should be avoided in the schools. Why are they teaching about what makes up a family? What subject does that even fall under? Math? Reading? History?
