After a full days work around the house, I finish up with wine, music and a cigar. I thank God for all of them.

I love Dean Martin, too! (and Frank and Sammy - the Rat Pack). My grandpa was very fundamentalist Baptist and he “hated” Dean Martin - I think because he usually had a glass of alcohol in his hand? I remember the Dean Martin Show coming on TV and my grandpa getting up and charging out of the room yelling “I’ll not watch that show!”

He is from Ohio, of Italian origin.

Dino Crocetti is his real name.

He was quite handsome, and reminded me of my Godfather.

‘’You’re nobody til somebody loves you.’’

So many great songs. A very talented singer.

It’s on my bucket list to one day go to the annual Dean Martin Festival in Steubenville, Ohio.
My friend went in order to write a newspaper piece on it, and I meant to go but the next year it was cancelled or something.

My big childhood memory of Dean Martin was his TV show where he always entered by sliding down a pole. I would watch just to see him slide down the pole. My parents didn’t really like him because they thought he was “a drunk” as my mother put it. Watching now as an adult I see he was probably inebriated a good bit of the time, but his earlier dramatic movies like “Some Came Running” are awesome.

We will have to meet there, lol! It’s on my bucket list too!

I heard the drinking was an act. How could he sing like that if he was drunk? His daughter said it was an act. We used to watch his show too. It was great, and I was a kid when we watched it. I remember Tommy Tune appearing during the summer when Dean was off.
