Hello, I wasnt sure which section to put this under so forgive me. I have a question thats been eating at me, so I made an account on here to get answers. In regards to end time prophecy, I have a hard time picturing the general thought about the defeat of the Antichrist amd Satan, that is that all of a sudden Jesus returns and poof, theres no struggle, he just swiftly wins in a flash. All throughout the bible, God does things, but he does things through more practical means, and he almost always uses people to get the job done. He works through people almost all of the time. When I picture God defeating Satan’s army, I picture a man or group of people. I believe that when it says that God will defeat Satan wth the word of his mouth, I believe that means he will speak to a man or woman who will then kill the antichrist once and for all. Not some magical scene out of a scifi movie, not how the omega code depicts it, but a man possesed by the strength of God vs a man possesed by Satan known as the antichrist. Am I wrong or mislead? I just see it as more reaspnable that God will work through people like he normally does, rather than a big magical moment most people believe in. Someone please give me some guidance. Likr Ive always heard of demons possessing people, do angels do the same? Could Jesus or St Michael possess a man and fight the Satan-possessed Beast of revelation?

Welcome to CAF!:extrahappy:

Interesting question! I think you’ll get a lot of answers.

I don’t know if God wouldn’t do something more spectacular to make himself known the next time he comes to earth, if that is what is to happen.

Assuming truth in Catholicism (Christianity in general)…

God already came to earth, to do for humans what they can’t do for themselves - open the gates of heaven. Which were closed due to man’s fall.

Thus if God is to come again, why wouldn’t it be a glorious return.

He did one 3 days after his death. Why not again?

Now, with regard to ‘fighting a battle’ (again assuming above)…

The battle has already been fought, remember time is a creation, the Satan - St. Michael dust-up is outside of time…

Satan is in his place of lonliness already. Perhaps try reading revelation with a mindset that John is seeing what is happening rather than what will happen.

I like the Dante depiction of Satan - a lonely soul frozen in nothingness with nobody.

Vs those depictions of hell being a party for evil folks.

I think you would be interested in Dr. Scott Hahn’s story. He does a great job explaining how before his conversion, he went to Mass and followed along in his bible as he saw the link between revelation and the Mass.

You can try lighthouse media for a cd / download

Many Saints say that the antichrist will try to ascend to Heaven with his trickery as if he is God and will be defeated by the breath of God.

The antichrist will be the worst human being ever to set foot in this world but to God he is just a man.

Satan on the other hand will probably be cast into Hell permanently by St. Michael at the order of God.

Part of St. Michael prayer …by the power of God thrust into Hell, Satan and all evil spirits…

Welcome to the forums and great question.

I await answers to learn more myself about this issue!~
Mary.
