I just finished my last class for today at 6.15. It is a class on Management Information Science, and our professor brought-in a guest speaker to tell us about project management in business settings (and the importance of proper planning for projects).
Midway through the class I sorta freaked-out. I realized that my management skills this semester (heck, probably my entire life) are rather poor. I get decent grades, but I realized that perhaps I could do more than what I am currently doing. I feel that perhaps God expects me to work harder in school than I am currently, but I’m not totally certain.
I tend to delay things until the last minute, or deal with them as the issue arises (paper due in 3 weeks? Start it a week before!). Another good example would be my accounting course: I don’t own the book because I never had the money to buy it. Nonetheless, I still feel that I should have tried harder somehow to find a way of using the book for my studies.
Overall I am not sure what to make of all this. I have a standard, regular way of doing things that works and gets the job done with decent results. But I wonder if it’s wrong for me to not be working harder somehow. The issue is I don’t know if this is a true problem or something I randomly just thought-up.
Your thoughts?
