Hi, I wondered if it is appropriate to wear a mantilla for my baptism and confirmation? Noone else in my church wears one but I feel called to cover my head in the presence of the Eucharist.
I would like to be able to wear one to Mass every time I go but I do no wish to draw attention to myself in an unfitting manner.
I have very short hair and feel that covering my head would be a sign of respect and modesty.
Thankyou,
Kitty

They are going to pour water over your head if you are being baptized, so you might want to ask your priest what he would like you to do.

Sorry, I meant for the eucharist, not the actual Baptism, I should have been clearer, I have decided it is best if I don’t anyway, I don’t want to stand out so I think it will be best to do as others do.
Thanks, and apologies again for being careless in my initial post.

if you want to wear it, do so, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t

Covering during Eucharist? Absolutely! I’ve recently felt called to cover and have started doing so during Eucharistic Adoration. I am working towards wearing it to Mass.
