Is there a reason why Mary’s apparitions seems so little in China?
 
Confirmation bias. If you already believe something you will be more likely to find and interpret evidence favorably to support your beliefs. That’s why Marian “apparitions” etc. are more prevalent where there are Catholics.

How about if the environment in which you practice your religion isn’t welcoming to apparitions, or the faith entirely? Many would keep experiences to themselves in those circumstances.

It could be surveillance bias.
