Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today is also the Solemnity of St. Joseph. In today’s Mass readings, there are 2 choices for the Gospel: Mt. 1: 16 ff or Luke 2:41-51A. Having listened to both I’m posting an excerpt from Luke:

There is so much for us to ponder in God’s Word to us. Mary our Mother pondered His Word. As we are seeking to understand Jesus better this week, let us behold our Mother and see by faith how she listened and obeyed. Let us see by faith, Jesus the Word made Flesh, as He reveals Himself, and listen to Him as Mary and Joseph did. They did not understand at once, but the final words in verse 51, are:…After three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers,
listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard Him were astounded at his understanding and his answers. When His parents saw Him, they were astonished, and His mother said to him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for You with great anxiety.” And He said to them, “Why were you looking for Me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what He said to them.
He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them.
