Dear Brothers and Sisters,

To know Jesus better we need to listen to Him, as Mary did, and we need to reflect on His words and actions in order that we may grow in our likeness to Him. “Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.” It seems to me that St. Louis de Montfort, and all the saints in their journeys sought and found Jesus as the magi did, “with His Mother”.

Early in his treatise on True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin, St. Louis wrote:
  1. I declare with the saints: Mary is the earthly paradise of Jesus Christ the new Adam, where he became man by the power of the Holy Spirit, in order to accomplish in her wonders beyond our understanding. She is the vast and divine world of God where unutterable marvels and beauties are to be found. She is the magnificence of the Almighty where he hid his only Son, as in his own bosom, and with him everything that is most excellent and precious. What great and hidden things the all-powerful God has done for this wonderful creature, as she herself had to confess in spite of her great humility, “The Almighty has done great things for me.” The world does not know these things because it is incapable and unworthy of knowing them.
It is by the power of the Holy Spirit, sent by the Father and the Son to bring us into all Truth, that we begin to understand Jesus, as Mary began to know Him in her life on earth. Their two hearts were pierced on Calvary and if we are to understand Jesus we need to continue to open our hearts as Mary did to receive Him, to grow in Him, to suffer willingly unto death that we may rise with Him and live forever with them in heaven.

“O Jesus, living in Mary, come and live in your servants, in the spirit of holiness, in the fullness of your power, in the perfection of your ways, in the truth of your virtues, in the communion of your mysteries. Rule over every adverse power, in your Spirit, for the glory of the Father. Amen.” – Prayer of Fr. Jean Jacques Olier, S.S. (1608-1657)

Beautiful. And Pope St. Pius 10th conforms St. Louis’s teaching about Jesus chose the elect in the womb of Mary. Actually St. Pius 10th even says that the mystical body of Christ was in Christ in Mary’s womb, and was also born from her.

May we all get ready for the Feast of the Annunciation, so as to love Jesus as much as possible through Mary!

Thanks, brother Pat, for your continuing Love of Jesus through Mary. Yes, tomorrow is the great Feast of the Incarnation/Annunciation. God fill our hearts with loving gratitude!
