Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The words in the title of this thread are taken from the Gospel for today’s Mass. There is is usually some connection between the Gospel and the alleluia verse, and there is today. All Scripture speaks God’s Truth to us, and I was remembering God’s work in teaching Mary to “know” Him more than any other human person on earth. Scripture tells us in Luke’s Gospel Mary kept all Jesus said and did, pondering all in her heart. (cf Lk 2:19 and Lk 2: 51 ) Mary, Jesus’ Mother “remained” in His Word , Mary is His perfect disciple and truly the Mother and Model for the Church.

Alleluia Verse:
If you remain in My word, you will truly be My disciples,
and you will know the truth, says the Lord. (Jn 8:31)
Gospel
Jesus said to his disciples: “If you know Me, then you will also know My Father.
From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Jesus, “Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know Me, Philip? Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who dwells in Me is doing His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me, or else, believe because of the works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in Me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in My name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of Me in My name, I will do it.” (Jn 14: 7-14)
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful as you filled Mary with Jesus. Kindle in us the Fire of Your Love that we may remain as Mary did in the Word made Flesh, and know Him in Truth and do the Truth we hear, becoming truly His Disciples.

O Jesus living in Mary, come and live in Your servants, in the spirit of Your holiness, in the fullness of Your power, in the perfection of Your ways, in the truth of Your virtues, in the communion of Your mysteries. Rule over every adverse power, in Your Spirit, for the glory of the Father. Amen. (Prayer of Fr. Olier)

Mary, my Queen and my Mother I am all Yours. Totus tuus! All for Jesus through Mary!

Dear Stephie and QuietTrade,

Thanks for your faith-full-and loving “hearts”. Hopefully others read this thread and perhaps pondered God’s Word with Mary also – even if they did not let anyone else on CAF know. That’s ok.

The important thing is that even if a only a few listen to God’s Word, they may by God’s Grace, learn more of God’s Great Love for us and learn also more about the Great “Gift” of Mary, whom Jesus gave to us from His Cross. When I watched the Miniseries on EWTN on "True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin" I was grateful for many insights shared.

In the very first presentation Fr. Miller mentioned the Legion of Mary. I was surprised because not many people today, know much about Frank Duff and how St. Louis de Montfort’s book played such a huge part in his life and founding of Mary’s Legion. In all 4 presentations, Fr. Miller seemed to stress the “Gift” of Mary’s Mothering us all in Christ. Understanding and appreciating the “Motherhood” of Mary is so needed in our day. I had one e-mail from a Legion Member who thanked me for allerting her to the Miniseries and told me she was going to re-read, True Devotion! 🙂
