Marian Consecration Brown Scapular

Hello Everyone,

I wear the Brown Scapular and consider myself consecrated to Our Lady. I had consecrated myself previously using the St. Louis De Montfort method.

I belong to a community that invests new members on the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel into the community with the Brown Scapular.

I am curious if people think I should renew my St. Louis consecration. Or what other people do, Do some practice both?

If you did a Marian consecration, one usually renews that every year. You can use the de Montfort method or some other method of your choice.

The Brown Scapular is a separate devotion from Marian consecration. Many people practice both. Doing one doesn’t mean you can’t do the other.

I’m new to the consecration but it’s my understanding that it should be renewed once per year. Perhaps you could choose to have your renewal coincide with your community’s celebration.

Is always good to renew your consecrations to our lady’s Immaculate Heart at least once a year.

It warms my heart when I hear that other people are wearing our lady’s scapular. God love you!
