Marian Medal?

Greetings all,

As some of you know I am currently a potential convert to the Catholic Church. I pray the Rosary nearly everyday combined with Scripture and personal prayer time, and I also have several books on Marian devotion that I am getting ready to start.

I was looking around at different medals on the EWTN religious catalogue website as well as www.aquinasandmore.com and have noticed there are many different Marian medals based on different apparitions ect.

I was wondering if any of you had a recommendation from your own experience about which Marian medal I should get. Anyone have any experience with devotion to a certain apparition of Our Lady that you feel have brought you especially close to Her and as a result closer to our Lord? I have felt drawn to the Miraculous Medal as well as Our Lady of Lourdes for some reason, and I know these are two very popular ones.

Testimonies about any others that are special to you personally would be awesome. Thanks to all and God bless.

I like the Miraculous Medal, because Mary herself “designed” it and asked Saint Catherine Labouré to have it struck. Here is a website with some information about it: amm.org/medal.asp

ok I think I’m going to get a Miraculous Medal. I definitely prefer something in silver as any jewlery I wear (watch/class ring) is silver. What do you guys think of this? I like it that it’s in French as that is what St. Catherine’s first medals would have been in I would think. It seems to be a good quality medal too. I would probably get the smallest one or the medium sized one.
