Is marijuana an introductory drug? What about alcohol or nicotine?

Ana:
I thought he was shot.
He was shot in 1976 but survived. Upon further investigation I found out that he died from malignant melanoma (I had always thought it was lung cancer). Woops :o

I think that the Government’s drive to recognize the use of majiruana is no more than an attempt to legetimize it. If becomes permissive for the sick then I guess we are to some degree sick. Today in America we have hundreds of other palliatives that are legal to use than marijuana,
Maryjane is a great painkiller. And there are some painkillers that just don’t work as well as pot.

which is an introductory drug to stronger drugs.
And cigarettes lead to smoking pot. SHould we ban them too?

As little comfort the drug gives, I would never use it for medicinal use, let alone heart operation.
How do you know it gives little comfort? Ever smoked it?

In doing so, one would be doing an unholy act.
How so?

Wabrams would you want to harm your body by something you know to be dangerous? Workers at ODOT I know can tell you that marijuana stays in your system for days! And if the urine samples come out, and they say positive, you’ll be fired! Yes, cigarettes in my mind should be banned, because its the morall responsibility of our Nation to uphold the common good.

I have not seen any recent research on MJ but whether or not I have seen it, whether or not the conclusions published by researchers are correct, if it does in fact cause cancer my opinion will not change that fact, so my opinion is worthless.

No one knows for sure if marijuana is harmful. And traces of it stays in your system for a few days, but that doesn’t mean you are high the whole time. Nicotine stays in your system for 48 to 72 hours.

And what is that common good?

It’s pretty clear that smoking just about anything is going to increase your risk of lung cancer. Perhaps more studies would be needed to prove that in a court of law, but to deny the logic of that is just being obstinate.

On the other hand, Ana’s point is well-taken. I don’t know of any reason that marijuana should be carcinogenic or otherwise unhealthy when eaten.

I’m also not aware of the “Government’s drive to recognize the use of majiruana.”(at least in the US). The *public’*s drive to recognize marijuana has been manifested in referendums in certain states. A few stray legislators here and there have proposed such actions, but these proposals have not been adopted by the respective governments.

I’m not the person who posted but for me the common good is:
A world where people aren’t losing their loved ones to lung cancer
A world where people arent suffering through lung cancer
A world we’re people arent using their welfare money up on cigarettes
A world where I dont have to have a coughing fit whenever i walk into a restaurant due to the secondhand smoke

Smoke is harmful to the smokers as well as those around them. Its not the worst evil in the world, but its certainly not beneficial.

On the web site Passyourdrugtest.com it states that Marijuana can be detected in your system (by drug tests) for from 2 days to 11 weeks! No, you’re not high the whole time, but think that all those chemicals are doing to your system!
