The Church does not teach that she died, nor does it teach she was assumed alive. The Church simply says that at the end of her earthly life she was assumed into heaven. That does not mean she died and was assumed nor does it mean she was assumed prior to her death. It’s not really relevant either way.

The Church does not hold that she didn’t die a natural death first. Nor does it hold that she did. That is not defined by the Church and the faithful can hold either view.

Well I s’pose I made my own view apparent then eh? 😉
Yup, you have the right to your viewpoint. And it’s ok 🙂 Just don’t say that the Church teaches that.

If you like audio (.ra format), you might try this link.

If you want to read about Mary in Scripture, you might try this link.

If you want to read what the earliest Christian writers had to say about Mary, you might try this link.

Finally, you might try the main site: www.catholic.com. There’s a search box at the top left of the page, and simply type in ‘Mary’. You should find all you want to know.

God Bless,

May I suggest Scott Hahns book Hail, Holy Queen. It is a rather good book. Read it in two days.
