The Society of Mary was founded in France to “do the work of Mary” by twelve men on the day of their ordination to the priesthood. The Marists have served French minorities all through the US, after coming here in 1863.
The Marist Missionary Sisters follow a feminine version of the Marist Fathers’ rule. The work alongside the Fathers and Brothers in their missions:
