“…whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him.”
and in v22-23 we are told that sensuality is sinful.
I was wondering how these verses apply to music (with or without lyrics).
Music enters through our ears (sensual), and we react with emotion. Is emotion regarded as sensual or spiritual?
And what does v20 say about creating music (or art in general for that matter)?
All comments appreciated.
Take care.

Two thoughts
  1. I believe that music as a general form of expression, in and of itself, is neither intrinsically good or evil
  2. Since it is created by humans (“that which comes out of a person”), it will take on the intentions of either the producer or the listener. A specific work would then become either moral, immoral or remain neutral.
