Further, the article in question seems highly critical of “form criticism” without seeming to understand just what it is. I would recommend that you read On the Interpretation of the Bible in the Church from the Pontifical Biblical Commission (which was authorized by Pope John Paul II and the then-head of the CDF, Cardinal Ratzinger), as it explains different kinds of Biblical criticism and how they are to be used in light of faith.

Read what he has said then come back and we can discuss your concerns, if any might still exist.

Well, i’ve read enough to see that Fr. Raymond Brown was a Protestant in Catholic clothing. I think we can use men like him to further our understanding of scripture but he goes way way way way too far. Besides, you can’t have it both ways. I can’t be a Catholic one day and a Muslim the next.

I believe in the Catholic Church and I believe in the truth. Fr. Raymond Brown lost his way. I have not.

One other thing, i do not claim that he was a bad or evil man, that’s silly.

I just choose not to follow those teachings.

I did not say you said that. I am simply saying you should read what he wrote and then come back and discuss any particular concerns you have.

What “teachings” of his trouble you. Please be more specific.
