I like reading about other rites within the Church and I know a lot about Byzantine traditions etc. but I’m just wondering if any of you out there could name some traditions or devotions which are practiced by Christians in the Middle East, especially like the Maronite or Syriac rites?
I’m really interested to see how their spirituality “works” and what prayers they are using?
Thanks in advance!

Maronite spirituality traditionally centers around praying the Morning and Evening prayers of the Church, participating in the Sacramental/Liturgical life of the Church, and prayerfully studying the writings of Scripture and the “Fathers.”

Modern Maronite practice also includes devotions such as the rosary and, to a lesser extent, the Jesus Prayer.

That is the impression that I’ve gotten after belonging to a Maronite parish for the last couple of years, and actively and aggressively studying the history, theology, and spirituality of the Maronite tradition.

What Philip said ^^^ 👍

And, I would say that periods of fasting are definitely a part of Maronite spirituality; the periods of fasting built into the liturgical year (Great Lent, Apostle’s lent, Assumption lent, Christmas lent), the normal fasting on Wednesday and Friday throughout the year, and self-imposed periods of fasting.
