I have a question…if someone wants to become a member of the Catholic Church but is twice divorced and remarried now, would they have to have that other marriages annulled to be able to become a member, IF the marriages was NOT done in a church of any kind?

You really need to ask a priest, there are many factors that are involved in seeking an annulment (or not) and a priest would be in the best position to advise you. You can call any parish and make an appointment with any priest, no strings attached.

You really need to speak to your local priest about this.

I can tell you from experience that the Catholic church considers all marriages, wherever they are performed, to be valid until proven otherwise by an annulment process. Even if those marriages were by a justice of the peace.

You can still be in full communion…attend mass and all…but the priest may advice you to refrain from receiving the Eucharist…until your marriage issues are resolved.

As others said…best thing is to consult a priest.

Only your priest can tell you if you will need to go through the full annulment process. He will need to know the details of each of the prior marriages in order to tell you that and to determine if your current marriage can be convalidated. Usually (there are exceptions) a person wishing to enter the Church should be in a valid marriage or single.
