please pray for me as i try to break this self destructing habit, every night of veiwing porn. I want so badly to stop, I feelit is pulling me from my wife and family. I don’t like the person i am anymore. My sexual habits are devious and decietful. I need many prayers please

St. Michael Arch Angel protect our brother in his darkest hour. Rebuke Satan and give our brother the strength to overcome this temptation.

hey brother,

i`ll add my prayers to the rest but let me give you some practical advice from one who has let go of active addiction. The only way to not look at porn every night is to not look at porn. Together God and you can move mountains but you need to bring a shovel, only by not looking at porn will you break its hold and start to feel the peace that comes with freedom from addiction. Pray for strenght and put that into action, look for support from others who have found a way to live without porn and use their strength till you get some of your own:thumbsup:

i wish you peace:)

I will pray for you. My late husband got addicted to pornography, and it was so detrimental to our relationship. You’ve already been given some excellent advice, and I would also add to be accountable to someone about this. Persevere and never give up.

I pray that you will surrender this and your entire being to God…so He can work through you…and help you to become the pure and chaste father and husband you need to be.:signofcross:

Hi Rid,
At least you know you have a problem and want to fight it. I will keep you in prayer and will also pray for your wife and family. I know that when I first caught my husband, it was so heartbreaking and I didn’t trust him. Part of me still doesn’t trust him, but I am trying. He goes to weekly confession. Try to make it weekly and discuss it with a good priest, he will help you. I know my husband has gotten help that way. Your intentions will be in my rosary tonight.

It’s hard, almost impossible to break it alone. I can’t represent the organization on the link below but I’ll tell you this I am going on 2 months of sobriety and before I fell last, almost two months ago, it was 3 months of sobriety. Other than my stupid fall these 5 months have been a pure gift from God. Go to the site below and find a group in your area.

The Lord will forgive you and save you from the unwell habit, Amen!:crossrc: :crossrc: :crossrc:

May the Holy Spirit enlighten your mind and soul in this time of trial. I will keep you in my prayers.

Hi Rid,

I understand your problem because I myself was once addicted to porn and still haunts me at times. Satan knows when to strike, he waits for your guard to fall. Always be hopeful, that’s our catholic faith. It may take you time to ease the habit off but I believe in miracles and you could be a miracle yourself! You’ve probably heard this before but go for confession and receive holy communion. When you do, cry to Jesus and tell how much you hope to be liberated. With that strength, you make the first move to break your habit in every possible way. Try every single day.

May God always fill you with his grace,

Ergo

Hello Rid, I’ll pray for you. May God give you strength to fight this!

I’m praying for you Rid! May God God guide you away from the works of the devil! :gopray2:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Will certainly keep your heartfelt prayer in my own…

There is a powerful prayer to Mary for holy purity:

Pray the Hail Mary three times and then pray three times:

Our Lady, Queen of Holy Purity, guide, guard and protect me.

I agree with this poster. I should have my husband reply since he lives this addiction. It almost destroyed our family 2 years ago. We tried a lot of things but SA was a Godsend. Without it, I’m sure I’d be divorced. See if you can get a copy of the white book from SA. I’m sure you will find it fascinating. God is answering your prayer in this thread. Don’t be afraid. My prayers are with you and your family.
