Recently there was a thread posted with a question to husbands and wives about what qualities made their spouse special to them.

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?p=896540#post896540

While several women posted only one man did and he basically said him and his wife hated each other. And all the guys he knows pretend to be happy in the marriage to their wives but contantly gripe and complain about it to him. See the above link.

Now I know has to be some men that are happily married on the forum. But I also realize a guy probably isn’t going to gush about his wife- especially after a bunch a mushy posts from women (me being one of those mushy women.) Too much estrogen in that thread for men I think.

So now you have your MAN ONLY thread. And I’ll even post a pole to make it easier for ya. (Less sharing of of those dreaded feelings) 😃 But feel free to share your thoughts as much you like.

Well, without going into the “mushy details”🙂 , I voted for extremely happy. My wife and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary and I can very honestly say that I love her more now than when we got married.

Peace

Tim

I said extremely happy. We’ve been married almost 20 years and people say we are like newlyweds. We hold hands whenever we walk together and almost never leave the house without a kiss. We don’t get into the kind of marathon talks we did when we were dating, but we still have good conversations. We would rather spend time with each other than anyone else. We have our tense moments, of course, but by and large we think we are happier than most of the couples our age we know.

I too said extremely happy. But it has not always been the case. About 6 years ago our relationship was so bad that we were talking about a divorce. We then discovered the Couples for Christ family ministries. They helped us work through our issues and taught us how to be a Christ centered couple and family. NOW … every morning when I wake up, I thank God for the gift he has given me.

Top notch.

Exceptional.

Julie just called me “randomly” from where she is and reminded me how much I love her. She seems to get happier every day, even as I see her real beauty unfolding more and more.

Same here. Been married almost 20 years and we act like total goofballs.

I’ll do some work in the yard, and of course I want credit so I’ll say, “wouldst thou my queen do her lowly servant the honor of inspecting his work” and stuff like that.

Never leave without a kiss.

Especially when kids are with her, occasionally waving enthusiastically as they drive away and looking the fool.

Being willing to be the fool for love.

We don’t need TV shows to live our life through; our family is often more fun and dramatic and silly than typical formula sitcoms.

We have been married for eight years, have five kids and I can honestly say that I am far happier than before I was married. My wife is wonderful and we still talk about being on our honeymoon.

I said extremely happy. Sure, we have our moments but, who doesn’t? The bottom line is that my marriage has given me a small glimpse of the unconditional love God has for me. The night I met my wife I knew I was going to marry her. We’ve been together for four years and have an 11 month old daughter.

My wife and I just celebrated our 31st anniversary, and I still refer to her as my “bride.” Even a bad day with her is a good day. 👍

You guys are giving me goose bumps. 🙂

I knew there had be some happy married guys out there -apparently several exceptionally happy ones. May God Bless your marriage always.

And for those who have difficult marriages -may God send the grace to sustain you and give you comfort.

God Bless.

10 months yesterday… and i knew it would be good… didn’t know it would be THIS good. She is the light in my world. Every time i see her, i smile.
only 2 more months as a honeymooner 😦 - i really look foward to a long life with her… she’s awesome.

I voted for my husband after asking what he thought. He siad happy, but after reading what you all posted, I think he agrees with the exceptional range. He just doesn’t like using descriptive words like exceptional or very. Happy is good enough. If he wasn’t happy, he’d be something else. We still have great conversations and laugh alot and enjoy our life together. We are happy, happier than a lot of other couples we know.
I asked him about how he spoke about me when other men talked about how unhappy they were in their relationships (I too read that womens thread). He siad men who talk that much have no business hanging out with him. HA! thats the kind of guy he is!
