How can a Catholic man who married outside the Catholic Church be reconciled with the Church after his marriage? Even supposing that he knew before the marriage that he shouldn’t have married outside the Church?

First thing to do is go talk to a priest 🙂

Explain the situation and go from there…it could be as simple as going to confession and then attending Mass…it will just depend on the marriage situation, and really a priest can best advise.

Dear PDR1234,

Veronica is quite right…it can be really easy to reconcile oneself back into the Church.
If you simply married outside the Church and this is your first marriage and your spouses first marrriage then you go to the priest for confession as Veronica said and they arrange a Catholic wedding…which I believe is quiet and private. Some called it "the marriage being “blessed”.
If there are extenuating circumstances, say, your spouse was married before, the water may be muddied a bit but it all can be easily looked into for a fresh start. Depends on the situation.
Do not let this separate you from the Body of Christ…attend Mass and look forward to enjoying the Sacraments when this gets taken care of! God Bless you.
Love in Jesus,
Shelby Grace
