Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone was familar with some of the married Saint?

St. Monica, St. Mary, St. Joseph, St. Cecilia, St. Felicity, St. Perpetua, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, St. Peter… the list goes on and on.

Personally…I think there are alot of married saints out there raising seven or more children…we will just never know of them because they are busy…raising seven or more children;)

Saint Guntram was also married. A couple of times. He’s one great example of doing heavy duty penance.

There’s a fine book put out by Ignatius Press titled “Married Saints and Blesseds through the Centuries” by Ferdinand Holbock. It includes many of those listed by The Angelus. It has 500 pages of various Saints.

Perhaps it will help you see just how very many married people have in fact become Saints.

St. Therese of the Child Jesus’ parents Louis & Zelie Martin are being considered for sainthood as a married couple. You certainly have to look at a couple who raised 5 daughters all who became nuns and one who became a saint and a doctor of the church as holy. They were definately spiritually influential in their daughters’ lives.

There is also a wonderful book by Joan Carroll Cruz called “Secular Saints.” I think it’s out of print, but you can probably get your hands on a previously owned copy on Amazon or e-bay.

There is a movie about St Thomas More I believe it was called “A Man For All Seasons”

Are there any modern day Saints who were Dads whose writings are available to read?

Saint Gianna was married, mother of 4 and a doctor…the book Love letters to my husband is quite nice.
