I am dating a non-Catholic widower. We have not talked about marriage yet (for a change, I am trying to take things slowly!;)) Is there anything that would need to happen for us to have a marriage in the church and validated? He is not Catholic (nor his previous wife).

Like I said, this is not an immediate issue, more of a curiosity…

Since you are dating you are not married or have an annulment. He is no longer married and because of his wifes death is free to Marry, unless he was married before. In that case he would need to have that Marriage look into.

You would both need to satisfy any pre-marriage preparation requirements of your diocese. Nothing else should stand in the way.

Thanks, Br. Rich SFO!

As clarification, I have never been married and this was his only marriage.
