I know the obvious verses where Mary appears in the New Testament and I know she is mentioned in Genesis and Isaiah 7 but where else?

There is an excellent passage in St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion to Mary that draws out the figure of Jesus, Mary and the predestinate in the story of Isaac, Rebecca and Jacob.

The study on Mary I referenced above makes a great case against Sola Scriptura, Bible Alone. When the Protestant does a Bible search on Mary he finds only a few verses. Some will dismiss the episodes of the Incarnation and the Virgin Birth as mentioning Mary only incidentally as if she was chosen at random as if she herself was inconsequential, and “just a vessel.” Were Abraham, King David, and Saul (St. Paul) just chosen at Random ??? The other verses about Mary are then dismissed or even worse misinterpreted out of context to actually being an insult to Mary. 😦

When we contrast that to the fuller and deeper explanation about Mary revealed through 2000 years worth of Bible study by all kinds of Saints through the ages we see a world of difference.

Mother Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us. :amen:
