I would like to share my story about this powerful novena. I started praying the Novena to Mary Undoer of knots around February last year for 9 days. I was quite bad with OCD/scrupulosity last year to an extend were my relationships with family and friends suffered and I felt quite paranoid and everything I done I dreaded even shopping or doing simple tasks. I asked Our Lady to help me and ask Jesus to cure me cause I was suffering quite a bit. I said the novena again in March and once again a few months later, around October last year I reached as low as I could with the disorder I got so depressed and didn’t want to get out of bed. I prayed asking for guidance on what I should do so I seen the doctor and was put on antidepressants. I continued to pray and I felt God wanted me to seek help I started to improve and now I don’t think the way I did and I have improved greatly. I don’t always take the tablets as I don’t really agree with them but I know in my heart of hearts it was Mary undoer of knots that helped me, such a powerful novena and I would like to spread it so that it can help others with all the sufferings and trials they might face. theholyrosary.org/maryundoerknots

Hello Therese11,

There is a new group on Catholic Answers Forums on **“Mary, Undoer of Knots.” ** It was started by 3DOCTORS and you can find it here;

We would love to have you and any others who are interested in this devotion to stop by and check out the group! We would especially be interested in any other experiences in reference to this devotion, although that is not a prerequisite for joining.

Thank you, God Bless, Memaw

Maybe your posting here was a message from God to me. 😊 I’m having a lot of “knots” right now and had been forgetting to ask Mary to help me untie them. Thanks for the reminder. I could also use prayers if anyone’s so inclined. Thanks and God bless.

I pray this novena often too and Mary is so good to her children!

I need to get back to this devotion more. :sad_yes: There have been so many “knots” of late, and they point me to the bigger knots that have been tying my life up for years. By the grace of God I have had the wake up call and am addressing the problem. Still, it helps so much to stay in contact with our Blessed Mother while dealing with life’s knots! :yup:

I love the devotion to Our Lady under this title. I was hoping to find a way to incorporate the Bavarian custom referenced in the story into my own upcoming wedding, but I have not been able to locate any detail on how/when it is added into the ceremony.
The wikipedia entry for wedding cord has information about the Lasso tradition from Central/South American tradition, but I can’t find any clues on the Bavarian customs.
Thanks for your help!

If Google doesn’t lead anywhere, try your local library and maybe a college that has a German language department; someone might know someone who knows the history. Good luck!
