Good Afternoon Everyone!
I’m hoping that someone will read this and point me in a good direction to a book that has a good demonstration of the Mass for those studying to be Catholic through the RCIA.
We would really like to find something that is really “interactive” so that the Catechumens/Candidates will really feel and understand the beauty of the Mass.
Thanks in advance for your help!

God Bless,
Bill

Have you thought about asking your priest for a teaching mass. Our church does it every year for the Boy Scouts.

You could also check out:

The How-To Book of the Mass by Michael Dubruiel - Catholic Book on the Mass, Paperback, 224 pp.

Ever wanted to know why we do what we do at Mass but were too afraid to ask. This easy-to-read and (more importantly) easy-to-understand format provides the who, what, where, when, and how of the Mass. The numerous sidebars and style of writing make it simple for you to read a page or two a day. If you want to get something out of every Mass you attend–and share this grace with others–you need “The How-To Book of the Mass” by Michael Dubruiel
Availability: Usually ships the same business day.

$12.95

Thank you for the suggestion.
I recall seeing a demo a couple of summers ago that really took the Mass and the Sacramentals and told in almost poetic form the meaning behind everything associated with the Mass.
I believe it came from a book from Notre Dame Press and I’ll be darned if I can’t find it anywhere!
I’m sure I just don’t know where to look.

bishop Wuerl’s video, a Walk through the Mass is excellent

I simply “play” the part of the priest and go through the whole Mass from beginning to end explaining as I go.

I actually do this in three parts.

At the very beginning of RCIA I spend a session speaking about the history of the Mass and many of it’s parts.

Then a month or so later we cover the Mass up to the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Then in January this past year we covered it in demo fashon from beginning to end.

By the way the tape and the green book are both very good.

I would recommend The Lamb’s Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth by Scott Hahn. While not a strict textbook instructional on the Mass, there is a tremendous amount of beauty and depth in the understanding of the Mass you will get!

Thanks for the reminder! It’s actually my favorite Scott Hahn book!

Peace
Bill
