Minion with a drum, Ascension Thursday is one Holy Day that is confusing about the Obligation., Quite a few archdioceses and its suffragens move Ascension Thursday to the following Sunday. The ones that do not are the Archdioceses of New York, Baltimore, Newark, Boston, Washington, D.C, and I believe Hartford. I’ve heard that the Diocese of Lincoln (Nebraska) does not abrogate this day as well. IMHO, Lincoln should be a model for the nation (thank you Bishop Bruskewitz and his predecessor Bishop Conley) where Mass attendance on Sunday includes 70% of registered Catholics, Catholic schools are affordable, no altar girls, and vocations to the priesthood are abundant (i.e. what priest shortage?)

In fact, the ecclesiastical provinces of Boston, Hartford, New York, Newark, Omaha, and Philadelphia* retain the Thursday celebration of the Solemnity. (Baltimore and Washington translate the celebration to Sunday)
