I go to mass and love going to mass but when I need to explain to others why they need to go to mass it is a little harder. They think it is boring and repetative. I do pray for them. But they don’t go. How can I help them threw explenation is their anyway. How do I turn them on to God.
Not to mention Confession is even harder because they haven’t ben to mass. So if there is any way let me know.

First off, start by explaining why **you **go to Mass. I have found that conversations hardly ever go well if I am trying to tell someone else what they need to do.

Be a good example to everyone in your life. Always remember that you represent our faith and every little action has a consequence (good or bad).

Depending on where your friends are on their spiritual journey, you may try getting them to read interesting articles/books/websites about Catholicism.

Keep praying for them. God will work on them.

Because Jesus asked us to !

Luke:22:19 And taking bread, he gave thanks, and brake; and gave to them, saying: “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this for a commemoration of me.”

I would suggest reading the booklet “Mass Appeal” available at www.catholic.com and then passing it on to your friends to discuss. It’s very short and very good.

When we begin to understand what is really happening at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (because I doubt that we’ll ever fully understand the Mass on earth) it makes it so much more meaningful and beautiful. Things that used to be boring or repetitive become meaningful and awesome!

Also, Fr. Larry Richards free CD on the Mass Explained is also wonderful, available at www.catholicity.com

Fr. Larry talks about how Jesus, when He first sat down with his apostles at the last supper, says to them: “I have greatly desired to eat this Passover meal with you.” He continues to say that to us today!

The problem here is that most people do not understand what mass is. Mass is the Holy Sacrifice in which the eternal pasch of Christ become present in time, where heaven and earth touch, where calvary becomes present upon the altar, where myriads of Angels are present worshiping christ in the Eucharist. At mass, the entire Church, glorious, suffering, and militant is united. And mass is the only way possible to offer true worship because God has established that worship is sacrifice and the Holy Mass is the only place that we offer the sacrifice of the body and blood of Jesus to God in the Eurcharist. If one does not attend mass, one does not worship God. Period.
