When it comes to sending money away, please don’t take my word for it, check out this website:

What do you mean your parish is booked in advance. There is no quota.
Every Sunday at our church Masses are said for dozens of people. There is no limit.

In addition to having masses said through the Franciscan Missions, as somone mentioned above, I also use this ministry:

Mass stipends are only $5.00 each, and they send a beautiful card to the recipient, if you wish.

Our diocese also will have a mass said by a retired priest for only $5.00 each, also- you may want to call your diocesan office and see if you can do this, also.

Actually, Canon 948 requires that a separate Mass be offered for each stipend, although I think that there may be an exception allowing for multiple intentions, provided all parties are aware of and accept it.

Can. 948 Separate Masses are to be applied for the intentions of those for whom a single offering, although small, has been given and accepted.

Can. 953 No one is permitted to accept more offerings for Masses to be applied by himself than he can satisfy within a year.

Everybody is certainly aware of how it works at our church and accepts it and an offering is made for each name. The many names are put up on a screen so that all at the Mass can see who the intentions are for.

Look into the Society of the Little Flower. I visited their site after my Grampa died, we received several condolence books from the Society, indicating they would pray for him for 5 years.

Yes, there is a limit of one stipend per Mass and therefore one “unique” intention. We pray for a lot of people but the Mass intention is specific.

I reccomend that the OP check out churches in poor neighborhoods where there may be a relatively “empty” calendar, and also the stipend will be very welcome.
