[edited]“Why Should You Have Masses Offered?” it is written:
[edited]
Code:
    9. Devoutly assisting at just one Holy Mass, or having one Holy Mass offered for yourself during your life, will be of more benefit to you than many (Some say as many as one thousand!) offered for you after your death. Of course, the more Holy Masses, the better!

    10. By piously and devoutly assisting at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, or by having the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered for yourself, you are preserved from many dangers and misfortunes which would otherwise have befallen you.

    14. By having a Holy Mass offered for yourself and/or by assisting at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in a pious and devout manner and offering the Mass to the Most Holy Trinity, in honor of a specific Angel or Saint, and thanking God for the favors He has bestowed on this particular Angel or Saint, and such-like, you give that Angel or Saint a new degree of honor, joy and happiness in Heaven and bring upon yourself the special love and protection of this Angel or Saint!

Is the above information backed by Catholic doctrine ?

If I decided to have a Mass or Masses said for myself, what wording is best?
Should I have the priest at Mass say:
For [my name] in honor of Our Lady of Fatima and his Guardian Angel.

During consecration, could I say as follows:
Father in Heaven, I offer you Jesus in honor of Holy Mary, the Mother of God and my Guardian Angel and I thank you deeply for the favors You have bestowed on Her and my Guardian Angel.
Thank you.

If you want to have a mass said for any intention do so at your own parish.

Thank you for your reply.
So if I wanted to offer a mass intention for myself at my own parish e.g. to make amends for my sins, how is it best to word it? Does the Catholic church have anything to say regarding this?

I suggest “for Trigan’s special intention”
Does the Catholic church have anything to say regarding this?
No, not on how and what you offer as intentions.

You can review this document:

ewtn.com/library/Liturgy/zlitur70.htm

Also, I suggest you review the Catechism sections on grace and also the teaching on the treasury of merit.

I have had masses offered for myself for “a special intention by anon.” The priest doesn’t have to know what the special intention is, God knows.*******

My wife and I had a Mass offered for our 21st wedding anniversary, best money we have spent. This past year has been the best year of our marriage.

May I ask what intention you had when you offered masses for yourself? Was it for your spiritual or bodily benefit?

I have had Masses said for me.

I do some missionary work in Tanzania each year. Part of that last year was setting up solar panels and tablet computers in some of the elementary schools in a rural diocese.

The Sisters and the Pastor of the schools tended to be quite grateful ( not the least of which is my solar panels were now a source of electricity for lighting in the convent and rectory)

My ask from the Sisters for the work was to say a prayer for me in front of the Blessed Sacrament, and my ask to the Pastor was to say a Mass for me.

How and when those requests were fulfilled, I left up to the Sisters and Father to determine.
