“Many are invited, but few are chosen.”

Well - I’m kind of confused of this Parable. - The Parable of the Wedding Feast

I’m trying to figure out who exactly is saying “Many are invited, but few are chosen.” and in what context that is being said. Like what does it mean all together?

Christ died for all (the invited), but only those who gratefully accept God’s grace can be saved (the chosen, or the elect).

The parable also shows the flaw of “once saved, always saved” style thinking. All the guests at the wedding feast are invited into the King’s house and accept the invitation.

But wait! Merely being invited and accepting the invitation isn’t enough for the King. The man who accepted the invitation but failed to properly “dress for the occasion” was found and cast out of the group.

As such, merely accepting the invitation into our King in Heaven’s house isn’t enough for our salvation. Even after we accept the invitation that is freely offered, we are obliged to clothe ourselves in garments appropriate for such a grandiose gift, those garments are the sort of deeds and behaviors deemed appropriate in the eyes of our King.
