Matthew 28:20 What is meant by 'age'?

At the very end of the the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus says he will be ‘with you until the end of the age’, what does the original text imply? How long is an age? Does that mean, a couple days, 100 years, a million years, forever? What was the intent of the Gospel writer here who heard the words of Jesus?

Consummation of the world, until everything is complete. So literally always.

Jesus is with us always through His Church in His Body in the Sacrament. He is with and in us because He tells us that we must eat and drink in remembrance of Him so often as we gather.

We are placed into Christ in Baptism by the Holy Spirit and are given Christ by the priest every time we take the Sacrament.

Christ is with us always.
