Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.
How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.

There are a lot of Catholics. Over a billion. What does Jesus mean by a few?
 
And there are 6 billion people now living–the numbers mean nothing. What Jesus means is that every person must guard his own heart so that he will not take the wide road to destruction. He used a common technique of hyperbole, using opposites common to Hebraic idiom, to make his point. He was not at all telling us how many/few people are going to be saved.

Jesus also said to let the weeds and wheat grow together. That means that not all of the billion Catholics will actually see heaven.

They will be “weeded” out before then.

One can’t put a number on it like the JW’s.
