I know Matthew 7:6 says don’t give to dogs what is sacred and I know that it’s talking about the Eucharist.

My question: is it wrong for me to have a St. Francis medal on my dogs collar?

No not a joke. I have had it on there for awhile. I personally feel it’s okay, but I wanted other people’s opinions. That’s kinda the whole point of this forum. Thank you to @TheOldColonel for a legitimate answer.

Yes, it is good to do. Saint Francis is the Patron Saint of animals, so putting this medal on your dogs collar is honoring a saint and helping your dog.

There is nothing wrong with. If it gives you comfort that St. Francis is watching over your dog, then why not? Peace.

I have a two foot, cool looking, Saint Francis bird bath in my garden.
So cute to see when a bird lands on his head - watching things. Chirps.
Chipmunks, squirrels, crows, blue jays, cardinals…etc…all partake.
They put computer chips in pets now…to track them.
I LOVE the idea.
I don’t think St. Francis would mind either 🙂
