Dear Brothers and Sisters,
How precious is God’s Word for us! Both the Old and the New Testament speak but One Word and His Name is Jesus! He is God’s Revelation of Himself to us. Yet do we listen to Him? I wonder.
In the Gospel for this Tuesday in the sixth week of Easter, I wonder if we as God’s Children, are hearing anything except the din coming from the world. Perhaps we’re hearing only the din in our own hearts so full of confusion and seeking only ourselves.
Pondering the Mass Readings today I was blessed by the First Reading from Acts and the Responsorial Psalm but hesitated to include all because of the “word limit” for posts on CAF. I hope you will listen to all and ponder all in your hearts. Let me at least post this last part of the Responsorial Psalm, then the Alleluia and Gospel:
Responsorial Psalm:
Mary Mother of the Church, refuge of sinners, pray for us. St. Joseph Guardian and Protector, pray for us, and for all the families of the world. Holy Couple Whom God chose and entrusted to you His Only begotten Son, pray that we may listen as you did to all Jesus said and did and pondered in your hearts. Pray that like you we may do the Truth we hear.

Today’s Alleluia verse and Gospel:…Your right hand saves me.
The LORD will complete what He has done for me;
Your kindness, O LORD, endures forever;
forsake not the work of Your hands.
R. Your right hand saves me, O Lord.
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your Faithful; kindle in us the Fire of Your Love. Jesus, Word of God made Flesh for us in Mary’s womb, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we trust in You. Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven…R. Alleluia, alleluia.
I will send to you the Spirit of truth, says the Lord;
He will guide you to all truth.
R. Alleluia, alleluia. (Jn 16: 7 - 13)
Gospel
Jesus said to His disciples:
“Now I am going to the one who sent Me,
and not one of you asks Me, ‘Where are you going?’
But because I told you this, grief has filled your hearts.
But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go.
For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you.
But if I go, I will send Him to you.
And when He comes He will convict the world
in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation:
sin, because they do not believe in Me
righteousness, because I am going to the Father
and you will no longer see Me;
condemnation, because the ruler of this world has been condemned.” (Jn 16:5-11)
