Dear Brothers and Sisters,

From the two options for Mass Readings, today, I’m posting only one Gospel along with an excerpt from the Novena. Readings are HERE – scroll down for link to optional Memorial of St. Paul VI. Pope.

Today’s Gospel:
After Jesus had revealed Himself to His disciples and eaten breakfast with them, He said to Simon Peter,
“Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?”
Simon Peter answered him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love You.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.”
He then said to Simon Peter a second time,
“Simon, son of John, do you love me?”
Simon Peter answered Him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”
He said to him the third time,
“Simon, son of John, do you love Me?”
Peter was distressed that He had said to him a third time,
“Do you love Me?” and he said to Him,
“Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.
Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger,
you used to dress yourself and go where you wanted;
but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands,
and someone else will dress you
and lead you where you do not want to go.”
He said this signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God.
And when He had said this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”( Jn 21:15-19)
AND from the Novena for Pentecost:
EIGHTH DAY (Friday, 7th Week of Easter)

Bend the stubborn heart and will, melt the frozen warm the chill. Guide the steps that go astray!

The Gift of Wisdom

Embodying all the other gifts, as charity embraces all the other virtues, Wisdom is the most perfect of the gifts.
Of wisdom it is written “all good things came to me with her, and innumerable riches through her hands.” It is the gift of Wisdom that strengthens our faith, fortifies hope, perfects charity, and promotes the practice of virtue in the highest degree. Wisdom enlightens the mind to discern and relish things divine, in the appreciation of which earthly joys lose their savor, whilst the Cross of Christ yields a divine sweetness according to the words of the Saviour: "Take up thy cross and follow Me, for My yoke is sweet and My burden light.

Prayer

Come, O Spirit of Wisdom, and reveal to my soul the mysteries of heavenly things
, their exceeding greatness, power and beauty. Teach me to love them above and beyond all the passing joys and satisfactions of earth. Help me to attain them and possess them for ever. Amen.
Mary, Mother of the Church, intercede for us that we may follow Jesus as you did on this earth. May we Listen to all He said and did as you listened and pondered all in your heart. May we do the Truth we hear as you did.

Jesus, we trust in You through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Pentecost is coming. Wish public Mass was happening, but…

God bless,

I’m surprised that some places are not having public Masses - with all the necessary precautions of wearing masks and observing social distancing.

We have been blessed to have both Sunday Masses and Daily Masses – with guidelines from the Bishop to assure for people’s safety. The Bishop, however, continues to dispense anyone who has concerns about age or health conditons so that they can be protected.

It is a sacrifice for those who want to prticipate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and to receiv Holy Communion, but there is also merit in offering up those sacrifices in union with the sufferings of Jesus and Mary.

May the Lord grant you and all those who cannot yet participate in Mass, especially for the Feast of Pentecost many powerful graces! He knows the needs and you desire to offer yourself with Him and receive Him in the Eucharist – He will provide in His Own Way and Time for each one.

Thanks again for your Faith-full, loving “heart” and this reply. Let us make our last Day of the Novena the most fervent of all! 🙂
